i still wonder why these never become popular on head fi

headfi can be funny about things capturing attention and some, plus a factor tends to be if osemthing isnt available in the US right away with ease that it can get overlooked.

plus they arent the most exciting sound, super good yes but it doesnt make you go "WOW" in a dramatic attention grabbing drama way.

These Audiofly AF180 have very good reviews. I would like to know if they can be located on the same level as the well-famous Shure SE846.

I guess that nothing can compete with the subwoofer that has included Shure in this in-ear, but what qualities does the AF180 to present battle to the SE846?

@mark2410 Just read your review on the AF180 after having considered the Aurisonics Forte and others as I was in the market to buy a midfi IEM. I've been undecided for so long after having sold my DN1K's some time ago.

After reading this review your common sense gelled with my train of thought and I just ordered the DN1K's again. Should never have sold them. They are for the price pretty damn good.

So cheers Mark, you saved me some serious dollars whilst at the same time I know I am not losing out musically in any significant way in regard to my preferred sound signature.

Mark have you tried the Stagediver 2 (SD-2) by chance? I'm upgrading from the RE-400 (love that sound sig w/ detail & *slightly* warm/forward mids) and am currently choosing between the SD-2 and AF180. Note that I tried the RE-600, but dropped back down being that I liked the RE-400 better -- the RE-600 just lost some high end detail/sparkle with the greater bass/mid emphasis.

Hi, if you think Re-600 is bassy iem, please don't try to buy Af180 :). I used Re-600 for three months and then I bought Af180 because of the Re-600's miss detail and low frequency. But Re-600's mids are amazing. I hope it helps :).

That ship has sailed, unfortunately -- I tried and sent the AF180 back already. Hate doing that, but they were just too sibilant and also the mids weren't forward enough for me. Detail was great of course, and I probably could have forgave the neutral mids if the highs weren't killing me. I may just commit to the Custom Art Music Ones based on feedback (no returning those), or may still try the SD-2s, but again, I hate buying and returning being that it costs *someone* money.

I didn't think the RE-600s were bassy, they just sacrificed too much high-end detail and clarity for the bass/mid boost compared to the RE-400s. The low end on the AF180 was fantastic -- absolutely perfect as far as amount, and control was great.

You may want to thing Oriolus, mk2 model is excellent but it's cost a lit bit expensive, also they have released Forsteni model last month, it's price near 300$, I read couple reviews about it, they say it is excellent and it's sound signature is same as the mk2.

Hi guys, I have been using Audiofly af180 since 10 months. I figured out a shell opening problem on socket side couple of weeks ago, so I send mail Audiofly support/warranty with detailed images and explanations. They said that the problem isn't something they have had reports of and is not included in their manufacturing issues. What will be your suggestions on this issue? They suggested me to use super glue to fix opening.

This seems like it happened because of poor quality. And they asked you to use superglue? Lol. I would not accept that at all. Terrible customer service.
