I am looking for a pair of headphones for watching movies, listing to music and gaming
I don't know why you would list these three pairs of headphones. I mean, sure they're all highly praised headphones in general, but they are all completely different.
The ATH-M50x has a small sound stage, is closed back, and is bass heavy.
The HD 598 (which I prefer the most) has really nice mids, slightly lowered highs so it's not fatiguing, along with pretty neutral bass.
The DT990, which depending on the ohm version, might need an amp, is known to be quite ear piercing. It's accurate, and has a nice sound, but the treble is way too sharp for most people to try listening for more than 30 minutes before they have to take it off (not true with the 600 ohm version imo)
For gaming, the HD 598 has probably the best soundstage.
For music, the HD 598 is the midground between these three headphones.
For movies, I really couldn't care less, because good headphones for 'movies' are sort of pointless and nonexistent.
Like, unless you have a movie with some sort of high quality well mixed lossless audio track, there's no reason to get nice headphones just to watch movies.
