Has anybody ever a/b'd capacitors? I'm trying to figure out if I want to order my ES-1 with stock caps, Jensen or the super expensive Audio Note. Are the AN really THAT much better? Explain.

Thanks in advance.

Here is a very useful capacitor shootout that give al least one persons opinion about various widely regarded capacitors. If you do a little searching on the Net you will find that this is a very subjective and occasionally contentious topic...

WOW! That was a GREAT article!!! THIS IS A MUST READ!! It's Audio Note caps all the way for me.

Oh yeah...also, he mentions he got scooped by Arthur Salvatore...one of my favorites. I don't know how I missed it. If you guys don't know Salvatore you should check out his site www.high-endaudio.com

Did you know Ampohm made the Audionotes Mylar foil oil capacitors ?
Also go to the tube store and look for the Aluminum polyester foil oil
Mylar and polyester are one and the same look it up that's a fact!
Mundorf killer all the way this cap is super natural just a little warmth with tons of inner detail.
I had the Mundorf Supreme, and Silver oil these are killer at a price around the supreme the Tube store has em ,these are bettter than paper oil .
Now it is up to you I know at least 10 others that are using these in dacs, preamps as well as amps.
