Were happy to bring back one of Audeze's most interesting products. Earpads!

As you know, the headphone community can be quite small. We all gather at CanJam, we meet each other on forums and some of us even go so far to produce videos on the topic. DMS is one of those stand outs with his small Youtube channel where he covers a variety of audio and tech related topics. As someone who appreciates audio he has a need to maintain the gear that he loves just like most of us, which sparked an interest is reviving his Audeze headphones with their original pads.


But there is just one problem. Audeze doesn't manufacture the earpads anymore.

With his original "Vegan" pads in hand, he gave us a task to mimic them. It was important for us to match the outer micro suede material as well as the low density fast rebound foam. Months of prototyping and earpad measurements brought us to our new Dekoni Audio LCD Vegan pads. Armed with this preface, DMS has a quick video on the topic explaining the story and perks of the latest in the Dekoni Audio earpad line up!

LOL who else remember the good old days when Monoprice try to make their own LCD-2 (aka M1060).

And the best pad was the Audeze Vegan pad, so Audeze put a restriction on it so that only LCD owners can buy them.

I'm not sure who is the biggest target audience these days but nice to see they are back!

Any chance these might be available in Brown in the future?

I have an LCD-3 with the old style brown leather headband and I’d love to have a pair of pads to match.

Especially because it has the pads and drivers replaces right before Audeze realized the memory foam they were using was missing the frequency response, so mine has the memory foam pads and dead upper midrange because of it.

What "stock" are you comparing to? Original Vegans vs Dekoni?

In my experience the leather-free pads currently offered on Audeze website are the best pads, don't think I ever tried the vegans tho

I've seen OG HE-6 owner replace the Hifiman stock pads with Audeze vegans. I don't know why, but I have had these NOS brown vegan pads all of these years (unused) and I've been torn between replacing the aging black vegans on my LCD-2 rev. 2 and replacing the new leather pads that the previous owner placed on my LCD-3 prefazors. I like the overall sound of the LCD-2 rev. 2 better in their current configuration, but a part of me wonders whether the LCD-3 can be improved with the vegans. Anyways, I'm definitely buying these vegan remakes when they make their way to the market.

I went to two different meetups in 2023. Someone had I think the M1070 but it may have been the 1060. Anyway, I really liked it out of my setup. I got to let the owner hear an "authentic" Audeze LCD-2 with Fazors for the first time ever so that was nice.

Interested in trying these out for my LCD4. Currently using the Elite sheepskin pads on my set. Those dampen the mids ever so slightly while preserving the low end from stock. I wonder if dekoni would post some info on other audeze hp with these new pads?

Ah Audeze pads are stick on right? They should've made with a mounting system so you can swap back and forth.

I wouldn't sweat over it, generally speaking the same pads made by different brand always sound slightly different.

So there's nothing wrong wanting to stick to the original brand.

The measurements were provided by DMS, the 'stock' measurement is his original Audeze vegan pads.

Leather sounds better.

Everyone hears differently, that is why we try to offer as many different options as possible. Dekoni Elite Sheepskin is a good pick as well!
