been using the service with the provided linksys RT31P2 router for almost a year with no complaints. planning to add a laptop to the equasion which equals adding a wireless router to the mix. worried about clashing between the two resulting in bad connection, phone and/or netwise. what's your setup look like, wireless vonage users?

My parents got a VOIP phone about a year ago, intending to have it replace our regular phone. I don't know if it was Vonage or not. We already had a wireless network in our house at that point.

Long story short, the phone worked horribly -- static, poor voice quality, sound dropping out, etc. I recall it would even ring sometimes when nobody was calling. Other times, calls wouldn't get through to us. And very often people we called would say they could hear their own voice while talking.

They kept the phone as it's still free long distance and the second phone line can be useful occasionally. I don't know if the wireless router caused the problem or if it was something else (seems to be more the system itself) but it was definitely not a good replacement for our traditional phone.

I have used Belkin (pre n and draft n ) wireless routers along with Linksys g with no problems at all. The problem will not be between the wireless and the Vonage router, but rather your wireless phones if you have any, I just upgraded to 5.8ghz and not problems at all. 2.4 was another story and did not work very well in my case
