i'm in the process of choosing an amplifier for my speaker, and would like some input from fellow headfier. preferably getting an integrated amplifier tube/solid state or hybrid. for the record i've never heard any of this amp, but i managed to com down to a few choices:
-Rotel RA-03 ( Hifi Choice/What Hifi winner seems to be a good pair from what i read)
-Jolida 1501 RC (gives good midbass according to cattylink guy i emailed the other day)
-Jolida 302B (would like to try tube amp, not sure about the sound tho)

i didn't put NAD 352, i've listened this one and didn't really like it.

other brand are not too common or stupidly expensive in australia, so it's better for to forget about them.

rotel dealer in my place doesn't have dynaudio speaker which makes it hard to try the combo. no jolida dealer here, so it must be through online shop.

budget if possible stick it under $1000

I auditioned the Cyrus 6 & 8. Both amps have similar sonic signatures, with the 8 being more bold-sounding with greater power/control. They typically sound sweet and very detailed (without being edgy/in-yer-face). The newer VS topology is said to bring more smoothness to the sound, but those who upgraded their amps to the VS status question whether the cost for the upgrade was worth the difference.

I auditioned the NAD C320BEE & C370 previously too and did not like them at all (lacking in details & excitement). Some have mentioned the NAD C amps + Dynaudio pairing is a good match, but I'd rather not take any chances.

HIHs. Cheers!

I used to have the audience 52, and am currently enjoying the 122; basically a 42 with an added mid/low unit and a larger cabinet.
Bot are great speakers, but they need a ood amp; powerfull and never sharp, yet dynamic and detailed.
My Primare A30 fits the bill perfectly, lots of synergy, you might try other amps of that brand if the 30-series are above your budget.
I had about 10 different amps and 10 differnet sets of speakers the last 20 years, but thias couple stays untill it dies of old age!

I would not use a Cyrus; had one for years, they usually have a detailed and fast sound that is accomplished by accenting the leading edges of notes, yet they do not sound full enough to complement the dyns.
Neither would I choose the Rotel; the slightly mechanical character would be accentuated by the dyns.
Never liked NAD-amps, rather blunt sound.
A tube amp could probably sound very nice, since the dyns do not have midbass overhang, but on the other hand, the dyns are not very sensitive and tub amps usually are not very powerful so it depends on the size of your room and your desired volume.
A Rega amp might be nice too perhaps, there are some finesounding italian amps on them arket too.
But whatever you do, do not buy a best buy amp without checjking out the synergy, the 42 are extremely capable and pleasantly sounding, but only if they are coupled with a matching amp, which might cost considerably more then the 42s themselves.
Good luck.

Your Dyna's might enjoy an amp that has some muscle...I'd say a Musical Fidelity X-150 or so...not too familiar with Jolida, but I have similar tough speakers to drive and they needed around 150 watts to sound their best. I did try tubed gear rated around 50 watts and the speakers were starving. I settled on MF A5 integrated at 250 watts and it is fantastic the amount of control the speakers are under. There are tube amps that can do it, but I found that it takes a lot of money to drive inefficient speakers well (ala VAC, BAT or similar...all north of $2k used).

I heard of three amp brands said to work well with Dynaudio speakers: the above-mentioned Primare (excellent synergy, according to a trustful audiofile friend; heard it myself, but only briefly, the sound was great), Bryston (maybe you can find a used one around $1000? - not sure of the prices) and, way above your budget, Jeff Rowland.

I second that!

They have a forum over at audiocircle.com. Might be worth a look.
