Hello everyone,

What do you guys think about pairing the ASUS xonar Essence ST and the Sennheiser HD 800 together?  I currently have the Essence ST and am contemplating purchasing the HD 800 (300 ohm impedance).  The essence ST can supposedly power headphones up to 600 ohms so it should technically work.  Has anyone tried this combination before?  How does it sound?

Is there any way to change out the DAC on the sound card and put in a ES9018 32bit SABRE32 Reference Audio DAC?   I'm just thinking of a cheap way of getting some of the xonar Essence One in my current sound card without paying tons of $$$.

Thanks!

Audio-GD NFB-15 or NFB-11

I replaced my Essence STX with a NFB-15.32 (older version of the NFB-15).

A Xonar ST with good amp  like 2xLME49720HA or 4xAD797BR for exemple (check Xonar STX modding impression thread) don't have to be changed for some Audio-GD.
You can also change the TCXO, to close the debate and not spend hundreds of dollars for no gain.
