I want to buy a PCI express sound card in order to improve my sound quality through the headphones. I am currently using the Realtek on my cheap motherboard, and I'd like to get better and cleaner sound. My question is: out of these two sound cards, ASUS Xonar DGX and ESI Prodigy X-fi NRG, which one do you think will be better? Thanks.

The ESI Prodigy seems to have a better DAC and more powerful headphone amplifier, but as it only comes with EAX 4.0, it must be using a really old Creative audio processor.
