Hello,

I am wondering which would be a better overall sound? I currently use my PC for listening to music and my files range from mp3 to wav to lossless.

I do like the warm sound that is produced by amps, but feel that at this time, I don't have the time/budget to get sucked into 2-3k of equipment and research.

So Which would be better?

1. Keeping my current Creative X-fi XtremeGamer card + adding Valve Class A Tube Headphone Amplifier pre amp audio - eBay (item 180453206231 end time May-06-10 00:30:24 PDT) (100$ Bravo tube amp)

or

2. Purchasing a ASUS Xonar ST or STX sound card

I currently prefer to use DJ-style closed headphones (Allen&Heath) but after upgrading could go with different headphones.

I listen to mostly hiphop/rock/rnb. I also listen to vocal and classical from time to time.

thanks!
