Hello;
I just got my Schiit Modius / Magnius stack set up.
I have the Modius connected to my Windows 10 PC via the supplied USB cable.
All is working great, except for one thing:
There is far too much latency for my MIDI keyboard.
I am not a professional musician, but like to play around with my Nektar LX49+ USB MIDI keyboard.
I use Reaper DAW for everything I do with the keyboard.

Before purchasing the Schiit stack, I used a Behringer UMC202HD, which is specifically designed for musicians, so it came with ASIO drivers.
But I do not see any ASIO driver for the Schiit Modius.
There is ASIO4ALL, but I read somewhere that it won't work with the Modius. I haven't tried it yet.

For playing music, latency is not an issue. But even for watching movies it could present a problem.
The latency I am hearing through the Modius is very noticeable.

So, unless I find a work-around, I am going to have to keep the Behringer UMC along with the Schiit stack, and swap the headphones to the UMC when I want to play on the MIDI keyboard.

I will first try ASIO4ALL, but don't have high expectations based on what I read.
Any suggestions?

Thanks

Wasapi?

I was using WASAPI; but only the 'Shared Loopback (caution)' option works. If I set it to Exclusive, Exclusive Polled, or just Shared (not loopback), I get no audio from Reaper.
When I switch back to WASAPI Shared Loopback, I must then load any audio file into any of the tracks in my Reaper project and start to play it before I will hear any audio from the keyboard. This appears to be a quirk in Reaper.

And now for the really weird part:
After playing with Reaper and the different driver options for a while, then leaving the PC running but with the monitors shutting down (not sleep mode), I come back about 90 minutes later with the intention of installing ASIO4ALL.
But before I do that, I thought I would just try the keyboard with Reaper again.
Now I do not have the latency issue. When I hit a key on the keyboard, I hear the note immediately.
I have not made any changed to Reaper or anywhere.
I rebooted the computer to see if the latency would return, but it did not.
Now I can't figure out what was going on.

Note that I am using Windows Equalizer APO with Peace UI. But this is not the cause of the latency. It made no difference whether the EQ was enabled or not when I did have the latency and now without.

Something odd must have been going on, and I am determined to find out what it is/was.
I will be sure to document everything I do, so that I can restore the settings that work after I have messed up.
