Well some people like to knit, some like to braid cables.
Of course if a any head-fiers took up knitting they would soon be looking around for single crystal 99.99999999% pure silver knitting needles and litz braided wool!
Then there will be the double blind testing.........

You can.

After you enter the url, the link should be written twice. Once in quotes after the URL=, then again between the URL tags. The text between the URL tags should be automatically selected after you enter the link, and you can put whatever you want in there. If it's not automatically selected, just select it yourself.

A friend of mine didn't think I could knit her a scarf last Christmas. I kind of did it on a dare, and I ended up enjoying it enough to make a few more as gifts and one for myself.

It's not terribly difficult, and can be relaxing. I have a few belated Christmas presents to make this year. I've gotten a fair amount of crap from some friends, but I can handle it! Nothing like bookending some soldering with some knitting!

I did some needlepoint as a kid, and as I remember I always felt a little old for it. Not sure what age but it was definitely relaxing. I'm sure my mom has those things packed away to embarass me with someday.

Well, I don't know how to knit, but I know how to use a sewing machine. Oh God, does that make me a fashion designer?

"Believe me, we love women," said store manager Josh Bennett.

Suuuure you do Josh!

Seriously though, although it isn't quite my cup of tea (I simply wouldn't have the patients for it), my Wife's Brother knits, and he is as straight as the day is long. Different strokes....

But then again, I have been known to wear a kilt, and I like receiveing flowers from my wife, so I suppose I can't poke too much fun at dudes who like to knit.

All joking aside I can and do sew but would never attempt knitting because of the time factor involved.I am a "NOW DAMMIT" type and if it takes any period of time to do a thing I want no part of it.Knitting takes time.Crochet work takes time.Embroidery takes time.Sewing is BANG BANG DONE ! and since a young teen (13/14) have no problem with sewing up a special bag to hold something such as a fishing reel then or a headphone bag now.

My most ambitous ever sewing job was when i was in my "hippy" stage around 1972 and I purchased some raw deer hide with which I proceeded to make a leather vest out of.Carefully cutting the leather with shears, tacking it together to do a "dry run" on the fit then using a hooked leather sewing needle doing the deed.It can out like crap but it was all me so worn with pride and while in use had every manner of embroidered patch or imitation hippy girl (me 16 dating mostly females fromWestern connecticut State college who "played at" being cool

) true embroidery.

Faded Bellbottom button fly Levis, white tank top (they call them wife beater shirts now
rolleyes.gif
),red bandana around my neck or on my head like a dew rag, leather boots, three inch wide leather belt with a HUGE belt buckle for self defense, and my fringed stash bag (held a full Z of mishmacon,papers,bowl...
icon10.gif
) pulling duty next to my buck knife on that monster belt and all the while no matter the temp my home made deer skin vest

Looked like crap but where I went it went and was kinda my signature "look" and so considered cool because I was considered the defination of cool back then no matter what I did because of my attitude of "i know you want to be me" towarss the guys and "I know you want to be WITH me" to the ladies.
I carried this look until others began to wear damn close to identical clothing so when that hapended and never one to be either a folower or one to blend in did a full 180 and went to an all black look.Shirt, pants, belt, vest, breifs, socks, shades, ban dana, everything but my skin tone and that close to coco being a sun whore back then.

This was a look I liked but when again copied had to immediately change.this time to a totally monochromatic wardrobe but with interchangable parts in every shade of white, grey.black and for color the occasional olive. This fked everyone up because

A-they had no fashion sense hence could not do the matchups properly and would use tones with stark rather than shades with shades and stark with stark with a "twist" (you gotta know what staement you are trying to make or you not entirely comfortable in your own skin/clothing
very_evil_smiley.gif
)

B-did not carry the effect down to matched socks and underwear which totally impressed not a few young ladies

C-did not do it with style and a "look at me ! Ain't I the coolest ?" attitude hence looked more fish out of water than rick cool which never was about the "look" and all about the "attitude" anyway

Yeah rick knows sewing but needle work ? Pffffft. No fkn way

oh yeah! i'm 17, definitely a man, and do knit/purl. My mom just opened up a nice knitting shop here in our renovated garage in Sitka, Alaska, and has been getting quite a bit of business. It's a great way to pass time on planes (while listening to some portable-fi, and a good conversation starter with ladies!

I spin, knit, weave, and sew, but that's my profession. (See link in sig.) I don't get a lot of flak about it.

Stuck to my desktop I have a picture of Dave Lister knitting something on board Red Dwarf.

Other than a few anonymous guys on fiber forums, I hadn't known of any men that do fibercrafts (even sewing). I'm proud of you all!!!
