Im looking for headphones for keyboards... Ive had many sets, and a lot
work awesome with my home audio, but really suck with keyboards in the mid frequencies any suggestions? Ive had Grado SR80s,Audio Technica ATH M40s,Akg 141 Mk2(not bad) Sennheiser(so far the best)Koss porta pro,Panasonic rp 350(good for mids bad for sound)

Does ohms make a difference?
do keyboards need a different headphone than home audio? I think the signal must be different
any help or advice would be appreciative(no ear buds cant stand them)

thanks

If you're playing the keyboard, doesnt the sound produced travel to your ear directly? I dont see why you need headphones unless there are other noise in your environment.

I find the Sennheiser hd650 very good with synclavier and Clavinovas and various synths that I use. (Korgs)

I don't like toppy headphones with them since they exaggerate noise and distortion up top. Senns don't do this. Also plenty of weight in bass.

I've always used a pair of BeyerDynamic DT-990s (circa 1985). They sound lovely with my Kurzweil K2600xs - warm and articulate with a very nice, but not overpowering, low end. I've never changed the earpads - I really should - but I find them to be very comfortable.
The Kurzweil seems to have no problem driving the 600 ohm DTs - although I imagine that running them through a nice amp would really open the sound up.
