I just bought a pair of Xiaomi Pistons and I have no issue getting a good seal in my right ear, however I cannot for the life of me get a good fit in my left ear. There's massive sound leakage, bass response is nonexistent, etc. In the event that I do get a good seal in both ears, they're quickly gone if I touch the earphones.
 
Would foam tips help with a more consistent seal/fit?

I think there's something wrong with the dampening inside the Pistons. (I know this since I've tried it myself, so trust me on this.)
Did you perform the filter mod? There's a chance that the paper used for dampening has been removed when you took out the filter, causing air to flow into the Pistons.
