Are Denon AH-D7000 and Fostex TH-600 drivers really the same?

The markings on the driver look the same. Both are "FOSTER 481842 CHINA".

Fostex TH-600 Driver
Denon AH-D7000 Driver (1)
Denon AH-D7000 Driver (2)

However,
Fostex TH-600 sensitivity is 94 dB/mW.
Denon AH-D7000 sensitivity is 108 dB/mW.

This cannot possibly be the same driver, can it?

If you are a AH-D7000 / TH-600 owner, please upload a photo of these markings for confirmation. Thanks.

Just as a wild guess, could the Current (voltage/Current stuff) requirements be tuned differently, for each headphone, while using the same basic driver?

According to Tyll, essentially all Fostex semi open (and thus the d2k/d5k/d7k line) headphones except the TH 900 use "variations" of the same driver, because they had the same markings.

I personally don't think that is necessarily the case, and even if it IS the case, then that just goes to show how shockingly little the driver matters for the final sound.

Not all the markings are the same. Here is a list of FOSTER "Biodyna" diaphragm markings:

439360 - AH-D2000 / AH-D5000
481842 - AH-D7000 / TH-600
548843 - TH-900
606005 - TH-X00 / E-Mu Teak

Also, note that there are 3-4 letter markings on the opposite side of the diaphragm, like "1HN" or "8H81". A headphone can have "6H5" written on the left diaphragm and "8HD" on the right one. So I guess these are production line markings, which don't really matter... But I could be wrong.

Since I don't own TH-600, I cannot confirm that they use the same driver as my AH-D7000. So I'm asking the help of the Head-Fi community. If you are a TH-600 owner, which drivers do they use?

Sorry, I do not own the TH 600. I have owned the D5Ks and TH 900, and also listened to d2ks. I imagine the TH 600 is a bit rare these days. Based on what I've heard, the D7K should have significantly better performance in terms of technical ability.

Not that it needs to be said, but having owned both, the D7000 and TH600 sound nothing alike outside of both being a bit pronounced on the treble. Do not expect the TH600 to make a good substiture to the D7000. They aren't. The TH600 is much more neutral sounding, tactile/dry as well.

I would say the Emu Teak is the closest thing these days to a D7000, and that's not exactly the same either.
