I signed up for an Apple Music trial recently, after doing some research and I'm enjoying the high quality lossless ALAC quality, sounds really great using a DAC. However, I find that the Spotify music recommendations are far better. Apple Music "Radio" just keeps playing songs from artists I already listen to, and doesn't help me identify new music. Do I need to subscribe to both, to get the best of both worlds? Cause Spotify's 320 kbps music quality seems a little thin, although their service itself seems superior. Any suggestions?

You could try Tidal and Qobuz and see if you like their way of exposing you to new music better. They should both offer free trials.
Spotify is supposed to have their "high-res" tier ready soon, but we have been waiting for years so far, so I don't have too high expectations for the rumors that it is happening relatively soon 😔
