Is there a sound quality difference between the latest Apogee One and Duet as a DAC + Headphone amp? ( the latest versions that works with the iOS devices )

Can not speak to the Duet, but the One is awesome. Plugged it into my Hifi rig the other day and the difference was shocking. It was up against a highly regarded DAC costing about $150 more and it was no contest. Better performance all the way through the frequency band. Need to be a little careful as some have regarded the One to be a bit on the bright side. Running it through a tube Pre seems to resolve any issues there.

As a portable headphone DAC I have no complaints. Battery powered, bit on the large side, but totally manageable. Makes the MDR1-RBT sing, almost to the point that I might keep them. I picked mine up a few days ago and will have my first extended headphone session today. Will report back later if I can.

Thanks for the responsive. Guess I'll stick to my Apogee One then :)
