I know that one sold on E-Bay about 2 weeks ago for over $200 because I tried to buy it.
It's a very old model however, and if it breaks (or is already broken) it could cost $100 to $150 to fix. They often develop skipping problems.
If you can check it out thoroughly before buying, it's a classic that's definately worth $75.
I've never heard one so have no idea what it sounds like.

Hi,
D-555 or Z-555 is the best made model by Sony. It was top of the line in 89's. It has various type of DSP settings: Eq, Bassboost, Surround, and DDS. It has one of the best line out as well. Very difficult to find at a prestine condition.
Do a search in the forum.....

the d-z555 would look so awesome if it had the same casing material and finish as the d-25s.

D-25S looks cool, but I think the most beautiful Discman is Sony D-E905/D-E900.

Maybe Martioz is? He claims the denon 150 is the best pcdp but he never said why...

All I can comment about the Denon unit is that, the one I used to have has very accurate headphone out. In fact, the most accurate one. I didn't get to test out the line out/digital out of my unit, b/c I didn't have an amp back then. I hope martioz shares some of his impression.

I don't have D-E900/905
I had a D-777
But I sail it to my friend after i bought a d-25s on EBAY
