Just a quick question regards to iTunes and my 4th gen iPod Nano, I own a EU capped 4th gen Nano and to be honest I find the headphone output to be extremely low, despite cranking up the volume on the click wheel.

Whilst mucking about in iTunes I right mouse clicked over an album (get info) and on the last tag I found a volume option (see attached photo), does anyone know exactly how this works. Does it have a detrimental effect on the SQ if I move the volume slider up a couple of notches?

It's certainly made a difference to the output volume from the headphone jack once I synced the album to my iPod. But I don't want to start mucking around with settings if it's going screw up the overall SQ.

Any advise would be appreciated.

Why don't you just push it all the way up to +100% and listen to it? Does it sound distorted/compressed?

Yeah, when it's so easy to apply why don't you give it a try and tell us what you think?
