Cafe Walter Audio's HA-1
A few of interesting aspects:
- Power switched on with insertion of headphone plug (a switched jack is not uncommon, first time I've seen it used like this)
- Second input for an audio source to play along with
- Buffered output for a tuner
- Use of an LM833 and discrete set-up for the output stage
- Wacky virtual ground set-up (or is it?)
If you want to build one of these for Hi-Fi, you will have to make it stereo - this amp is dual mono.
My favorite part is that it is built in a Hammond diecast aluminum stompbox enclosure!
I also like this part:
"Unlike most music equipment, the HA-1 is not designed to make you sound good. Instead, it is designed to tell you the truth about how you sound."
Perhaps if they used a 4556? <inside RA-1 joke>
ok,
