Hi all!
So, I had a pair of HD598's that started having the distortion issue. I returned them and was deciding between the HD600's or the Fidelio X2's, since i got a very sweet deal (170€) on the X2's from Amazon I ended up buying them. Soundwise, they are amazing, really really good but still there's an itch... With exactly the same sound settings on my PC as I had for the HD598's, the X2's seem to need more volume. What I mean is, the Senns with winamp at 50% were already super loud, now the X2's most songs I listen @ 90% volume, some even @ 100% winamp volume and I still feel having more headroom would be good.
Now, I have a Creative X-Fi Titanium HD so I don't think I need a new DAC but I was wondering if an AMP would be the way to go. What say you?
PS: Not very keen on the E10K, since I've read a lot of people that had the combo (X2+E10K saying the sound became harsh and too bright).
