Hey all,
Thought I'd poke my head into the community by posting yet another question regarding pairing what amp with what headphone. Sorry...but search function really didn't pull up anything. Ok so anyway, I'll make my question quick. I just ordered a set of dt990/600 cans, and they're pretty much my first step into the audiophile universe. My question is kind of a two parter. I'm looking between buying an e7/e9 combo or a little dot mk iii tube amp. Would the mk iii adequately power the 600 ohm version of the 990's? And if so, would it be stupid to invest solely in the 200 dollar amp as compared to having the amp/dac combo of the e7/e9 for the same price? I rather like the idea of owning a tube amp, but only if it would be able to drive my headphones and the sound quality wouldnt suffer too much from the lack of a dac.
