I have been doing a little reading about capacitors, I guess there is something I do not understand. Here is what I have read as I understand it. The capacitors job is to stabilize the voltage, basically keeping it clean and even regardless of the amps power spike demands especially on the bass area. In other words, any power spikes demanded by the amp which the battery cannot matched quickly enough is filled in by the capacitor, thus keeping the power level constant.
Question is, what is the necessity of having large caps, why not just increase the power source(add more batts)? Wouldn't a sufficient power source negate the use of a cap? I can understand how a cap can tighten bass response, but how does it affect soundstage size? I know that especially with Dr. Xin's amps, caps affect soundstage, and even quickness of the sound.
