Hi everyone,

This is my very first review ever. So be nice! So I began with 100 hours of burn in for both pairs of IEM’s, followed by about 3 months of use with the RX12’s and 2.5 months of use with the MP9-P’s.

MeElectronics M9P with Mic

Unfortunetly I wasn’t able to give these headphones a complete review, as I lost them after a short while. Therefore it’s fair to say that my review is not completely thorough.Out of the box, the Mic was not compatible with the iPhone 3GS. I tried many things, but the button never worked to answer calls. For making calls it was great, the mic worked great and was very convenient.

Build
The build quality felt okay, a little flimsy at the connectors of, but overall seemed good. Metal construction gives them a little extra weight, but might be the reason the fall out when running and even walking sometimes. The small headphone jack is a practical design, as it means it is less susceptible to breaking the connection when you’re sitting and it is in your pocket (unlike the RX-12’s). Thick clear/black chord which feels of reasonable quality.

Comfort
Okay. A little difficult to find the perfect bud fit. My biggest problem with these was that they weren’t suitable for activities like running or cycling (they constantly fell out). Even with the many of the supplied buds, it was difficult to find the right and most comfortable one.

Sound
Like I said, I am an amateur but this is just my opinion. I felt the highs and mid blended a bit, and weren’t so crisp. The low was also a bit disappointing for my taste- it didn’t really ‘thump’ out a lot. I had read a lot of reviews here saying they were good for bass, so maybe it was my high expectation. I listen to a huge range of stuff, and for my taste, I felt they were best suited to Rock/alternative music, and house. Dubstep sounded good, but again the bass wasn’t as clear and driven as I would have liked.

Value
Quite okay- I paid $30USD for them on sale. Their RRP is a little steep for the quality in my opinion...

Overall they are a solid pair, but I wouldn’t be spending big on these. My biggest issue was with the comfort level, and that they kept falling out (which is really frustrating). They feel sturdy and of pretty good quality in the build department.

RX12

Build
All plastic construction, with a ribbon cord which actually reduces ‘tanglage’. Colour and design is nice, two-tone colour of your choice. As I guess is to be expected, they feel a little cheap and flimsy. Unfortunately after just 3 months they have already broken (only one ear-bud is working). I believe the fault is in the cable’s plug design, particularly at the jack/connector, as when manipulated it sometimes works correctly. I will be returning them for warrantly, so I will advise you on how that is all handled. They are super lightweight, and almost unnoticeable in the pocket.
The cable’s flat design looks great (have many comments), and sits well clothing especially when running/doing activity.
Overall I considered these to be more comfortable than the MP9’s.

Sound
For the price I was impressed. I didn’t feel that huge a difference between the M9P and these. They definitely were a little bit more distorted on all levels, but they produced good lows (close the the MP9’s).

Value
Very good- they were only about $15USD. Great value knock-around pair.

Previous headphones (IEM’s)- Creative E630 | ZaggBuds | Senhizer CX-300 | MeElectronics RX12 |MeElectronics M9P. Overall, I sound quality wise, I would consider the MP9's somewhat similar to my CX300's. The RX12's sound were conserably better than my EP630's and certainly the ZaggBuds. In terms of quality, I would but the MP9's in the same quality catagory as the Senhizer's and Creatives, but the RX12's I consider as more similar to the ZaggBuds.

Still to come: Feedback on customer service/warranty handling of the RX-12's

So that was my first review. It probably wasn’t great, so feedback is welcomed.

Thanks
