sorry if there is a thread bout this already, but the search feature leaves "AM" out of my searches,

I am looking for a new mp3 player, mostly for working out, so im looking for nothing too big, although ill prob want a GB, but i guess im limiting myself to flash players, but one thing ive noticed, in my short search, is that although some come with FM radio tuners, i have yet to find one with an AM radio tuner...

if i got tired of a mix, the one thing i really like to do is be able to flip to local sports talk station or somethin...

if you know of one, please drop some knowledge, or even better, if there is some reason why its just not feasible in general, thatd save me alot of trouble, and id be able to settle much sooner,

thanks again,
-P

My new Sony PCDP has an AM tuner, and I also have a small Sangean portable radio with one. I would imagine it would be possible to put one in an mp3 player but maybe there would be trade-off in terms of size or other features(?)

I'd really like to have this feature, too.

Maybe they'll put an AM tuner (only) in the iPod shuffle and call it something like the iPod Shuffle Plus. That way they'd preserve the distinct Shuffle reduced-feature set identity while giving me a reason to buy one.

For some reason, most PCDPs that include a radio have both an AM and FM tuner, while mp3 (digital) music players only include an FM tuner. I guess manufacturers don’t have enough space to fit in an AM tuner or probably think that people don’t consider it important. However, considering almost all news and talk radio programming is on the AM dial these days, it really is more useful than they think it is.
