I had originally purchased the Magni/modi stack to drive the AKG K712, and while I know I the Aryas are way more power hungry, after doing some research I believed the stack was powerful enough for the Aryas. However, when listening to the Aryas it feels like I'm missing some tonality and detail when paired with the stack.
Is the Magni/Modi stack enough for 90% of the performance of the Aryas, or am I really missing out by not pairing it with a more powerful amp?
If so can anyone recommend an amp/dac that would fully unlock the performance of the Aryas? I assume I would need to look at the Asgard or A90D?
I've had the Arya (all versions) several times. They benefit from current (balanced) and a low noise floor more than anything to bring out the details they can resolve. I currently use a Topping E70 9028Pro and A30 Pro since they have a complete silent noise floor, and the same power on all three connectors so you have full power on everything. They stack neatly too, almost the same size. I have two of the D30 Pro DACs for it, but the E70 in 5 volt mode pushes the noise floor down a little, and it's easy to switch it to 4 volts if I need high gain without clipping. Even the HE6SE I have is fully powered on this setup. Optical USB cable is another helpful thing to use if your system doesn't have SPDIF.

Technically it will work BUT it won't sound great, as someone who had the little schiit stack along with the Arya Stealth, its a shrill and boring combo.

^this is the way, I ran mine with a similar setup, E70 with L70 and it was a step up. I did EQ a bass shelf starting at 100hz or +3.5db on occasion depending on what I was listening to but it wasn't necessary. Arya likes power and will scale with better setups. The Magni/Modi isn't ideal for these. No need to go to a A90D unless you want it, which I wouldn't blame you. The E70/E70 Velvet with something like the D30pro will be fine.

I'm contrary to the above posts... The Arya Stealth is quite efficient for a planar and isn't a current gobbler with its modest 32 ohm impedance. Magni can easily cause permanent hearing damage driving the Stealth. Power isn't the issue, for me. Tonality is. Stealth isn't warm and can be a little (or quite) bright. Needs some thermionic phatness.
A good hybrid amp can provide that. While the Schiit Vali 3 isn't cheap (sounding), with the right tube it can make the Stealth sing, deep, lush and enjoyably. The Vali 3 is a great chameleon. All the money you save on the amp you can spend on tubes!
If you're not comfortable with $500 of tubes into a $150 amp, the new Asgard could be a solid match. Without the vast tonal palette that tube rolling can deliver. Or costs that tube rolling can pull.

I agree for the most part, tubes are another solution. Base on my experience Magni/Modi was just a shrill and thin experience with Arya, whereas my both my Topping stack and Glenn OTL were great experiences with good dynamics and tonality.
