I need to buy a pair of closed headphones, and prety much decided on the Beyer Dt250's, but... I just think they're really ugly...!

Is there any other option that would sound as good as the DT250 but that would look a bit more up to date?
I'm willing to spend up to £100/$140

I have tried a senn HD270 but they sounded crap...

Please help!
Cheers

you think they're ugly? what sort of problem is that? I thought it was all about the sound.

besides, personally I think they look great. have you seen them in real life?

Yes, most good sounding phone look ugly...

But once you put it on, and play a few CDs...

Then take it off, and look at it again, it looks like an angel, since the sweet sound will cover your eyes.

BTW, this angel can be a he or she

I think my HP890s look amazing but if I didn't like the sound I wouldn't be interested...

Get those Beyers if you like the sound, you can tolerate bad looks but not bad sound.

Well, do you like the looks of the Sony V6? I think that's about as close as you're going to get to the 250s' sound in your price range.

I have not tried the 250’s but i currently have the 770’s, and i here they sound pretty similar. I’ve heard the MDR-7506’s and wile i love 770’s i am going to get the 7506’s for the studio and portable use. however i do not think they sound much like the 250’s for my 770’s when compared to the 7506 sound completely different. For that matter i don’t think anything really sounds like the 770’s, except for other beyer’s. I would go for the beyer 250's.

Try throwing some paint on them, stickers, curtains, some throw pillows maybe.

OK, OK...
I have decided to put up with the retro (?!) styling of the 250's and ordered a pair, which I should have with me tomorrow!

I'm sure their look will grow on me and I'll end up loving them...
