Are there any alternate HD800/HD800S pads that don't murder the bass?
I tried the Dekoni Elite Fenestrated Lambskin pads and the sub-bass went away almost completely.
I'm looking for something a bit squishier than the stock pads.
Dekoni had originally put out a bunch of graphs showing not much change in frequency response with all of their pads (see 1st graph below).
Reviewers at the time also indicated no change in sound.
Later they wrote a new article with new graphs, showing a large drop in bass for all the pads with reviewers mostly agreeing (see 2nd graph), and instead of reducing peaks they now amplify them.
Not sure what that was about but I doubt any of the current Dekoni pads would preserve the bass.
