I don't this one, but let me tell you something :

I have little speakers from Altec for my computer. I trusted Altec.
And one day, I bought an Altec Oyoko (a behind-the-head style) : 20€.
As soon as I put them on my ears, I feel like I made a mistake...
I turned on my mp3 player, and 10 minutes later, I asked to take my money.
I never heard such a bad headphone for such a price !! Sounded like a low-quality radio with harch treble, shy mid, and no bass at all

!!

Since then, Altec disappointed me very much.
I would be very careful before buying a headphone from them and I would audition it anyhow... You never know.

While I have long held JBL (James B. Lansing) and Altec (Altec Lansing) speakers in high regard, I would be very reluctant to buy their headphones.

Nor would I look to Lear Jet for a commuter car.
Yet, stranger crossovers have happened.

Keep Faaaar away from those.....All you get is BIG bloated basss which masks pretty much everythin remaining in the audio spectrum..Slight sibilance, muffled highs, lack of detail ,lack of soundstage what not
Hmm like most of folks 'out there' i think even these took inspiration from bose

I bought some Altec Lansing earbuds a while ago, and lemme tell you:
uncomfortable
weak
ripoff
discontinued
are all good adjectives that I would currently use to describe them.

I have the Backbeat Titaniums (326) and they are the only headphone right now (see sig) that I do not use.

Not so much the SQ, but the ergonomics of the headphone. The fit is absolutely horrible due to the 'short-and-stubby' speaker chamber.

But the worst thing about it was the cloth cable! The microphonics are so incredibly bad, I had to get a new IEM to replace them.

Never use Altec earphones...i bought a pair a year ago, and the left side stopped working after 1 month.

Sadly, like many other fine old American companies, the original Altec Lansing company no longer exists. At one point they made some of the finest audio products in the world. Today it's nothing more than a hollow shell of a classic name that is used to hawk the cheapest imported junk. R.I.P. Altec Lansing, you were once America's best.
