I have read many posts on here about Alien Ears - both positive and negative. For what it is worth, I'm going to post my recent experience.
I am a bass player in a nationally touring country band for a well known artist. I needed new in ear monitors as stage wedges are strictly forbidden. After doing much research, I decided on Alien Ears as my choice. I am VERY GLAD I did! The experience was nothing but top notch. I highly recommend them.
I ordered them on their website. Instead of having them ship me the impression kit (which must be done ACCURATELY to ensure proper seal), I called my local audiologist. Found out they do impressions FOR FREE ... and was told almost all audiologist never charge for impressions. The impressions took only about 30 minutes ... and did I say they were free?!!!
Then I went to the Alien Ears website and ordered my ears. I bought the CFR3s. They were running an Easter special for 10% off. However, the website would not recognize their code. I sent them an email. The very next day (about 14 hours later) they called me and apologized that the code did not work, gave me a new code. I ordered them with the discount (btw ... they also included a free extra detachable cord).
Immediately, they sent me an email with a form that I had to print and sign ... and return to them with my ear impressions. I did that. 3 days later I received another email from them that said my impressions had arrived, were good, and are now in production. The normal wait time was between 3-6 weeks ... depending on the time of year ... I was told mine would be closer to the 3 weeks timeframe.
Much to my surprise, my new ears arrived 9 days later ... in time for a show that evening. I had a personal note from the owner Andre' Belloise that read ... "I knew you needed these for the gig so I rushed them and gave you a free rush and expedited shipping". WOW - Now that is service!!!! Rush shipping normally costs $35 extra.
I put them in and used them for the first time a couple hours later for a Casino show. WOW - they are excellent! The fit is absolutely snug - in fact, it is almost like a vacuum in my ears! And the sound is unbelievable! I bought the triple driver and am completely satisfied. Total cost delivered to my door ???? Less than $435. Try that with some of the other companies! Oh - btw ... they have been in business for 10 years .... check out some of their clients ... Justin Timberlake, Tracy Lawrence, Starship, and hundreds more ...
If you need in ears ... I highly recommend them. If you are skeptical (as I was) and like to talk to a real person, call them at 727-346-6483. They were always cordial and took time to answer all my questions and concerns. I have called them 5 times with questions before I bought them ... and EVERY TIME ... I got a real person on the other end of the phone. Now ... 3 of my bandmates are also ordering Alien Ears!
Do yourself a favor ... BUY ALIEN EARS.
