I will buy one of these 2 headphones by the end of the day, but I can't decide which one.

I will be plugging them straight into the ASUS MAXIMUS VI HERO (my motherboard) built in 7.1 soundcard with SupremeFX. Which I'm assuming will be great for both of these headphones.

I will be using these for creating cinematic orchestral music using VSTs like EastWest. I will also be making electronic dance music, as well as hardcore music. So a very wide variety of genres. I will be playing a lot of PC games with these headphones. (First Person Shooters). As well as watching movies and shows on my PC.

DO I want the very spacious clear wide sound of the AKG? Or do I want the closed, bassy, isolated sound of the DT 770???
I really Can't decide on my own. Please help!! I am very big on quality!

I'm about to just close my eyes and pick one.

AKG Q701 OR Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 250 Ohm

Open headphones are going to be a little easier on the ear drums, so I vote Q701s.

If you can get your hands on DT880s that would be my recommendation. You could find AKGs quite light on the bass for your requirements.
In my experience, both AKG K/Q70x and 250 Ohm open back Beyers are hard to drive. That means that you won't be able to extract their full musical potential without proper amplification.

HD598 and AD900x are both easier to drive, and pretty neutral sounding headphones. If you want something more engaging you could look into DT990s (hard to drive) and SoundMagic HP200 (easier to drive)

SoundMagic HP150 should provide the isolation of DT770s but a more neutral balance, and are easy to drive.

If you have to make the decision strictly between DT770s and Q701s is up to you to decide, both are very different. Comparing closed back with open back headphones is not easy, because each one have their strong points and is all about how you weight them.

Best Luck!

I don't know why you are putting the Q701 up against the DT770. Q701 would be more accurate for mixing, but the bass doesn't have much in the way of impact. You just hear it.

DT-880 seems like a good compromise.
