Hi,
I just bought an AKG K72 and I noticed that sounds are not crystal clear or the way I've used to my former Philips SHP3000 one. Maybe this pair of headphones is too professional!? I downloaded Equalizer APO, sometimes it makes sounds better but I should set some frequencies at 14-15 dB (plus a -6.20 dB Gain) in the app. The Equalizer APO is a little complicated and I don't know what's the most standard and natural sound! But I know without any equalizations (aka flat), the headphones won't make a clear and loud sound.

How can I fix this issue? My OS is Windows 7 64-bit.

I have not heard these headphones, so I can't comment on how they sound or should sound etc, but if you're EQ'ing blind without a reference point, you will most likely end up with something that isn't 'neutral' or 'natural'.

If you have a good set of near-field monitor speakers, or a VERY neutral pair of headphones (Hifiman HE-500 for example) to compare and contrast with, then you can more easily EQ the AKG.
Otherwise you will only be guessing. Usually when that happens you think you've got a good sound, and your brain adjusts to it. Then the next day you listen to it again, and you realize it sounds all wrong.

If you have to change some frequencies by up to 15dB to get a natural sound, then I would tentatively advise that these headphones are not "too professional"

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, I'm short on budget and can't spend more money for buying better headphones. These headphones do sound better than my previous ones, which equalizations had little effect on sound.

I don't have any access to monitor speakers or those headphones you mentioned. I'm wondering if there is any way to do that without using hi-fi audio equipment?

Are there any K72 owners in this forums?
