Akai Full-Logic Portable Tape Player

My Aiwa HS-PX700 portable tape player's play button is stuck. It's a full-logic unit but the play/direction is trying to figure out which direction to go. Pressing the other buttons is not solving the problems.
 
Any suggestions?
