(I tried my best to find a topic with targetting my question, but with no success...so if there is one, my apologies for the unnecessary flood)
I have an oldie relative, who owns around 1000 vinyls...he currently is trying to digitalise them via some oldie Technics amp and
a laptop integrated soundcard.
Would an external souncard like ( Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi HD Sound Card, link: http://us.store.creative.com/Creative-Sound-Blaster-XFi-HD-Sound/M/B004275EO4.htm ) be suitable and add value to the job? Or what other option should I have a look into?
(this also gives a hint about the budget)
I know, some very expensive equipment can be also used, and a card like the one above may seem silly or even an "insult" for such a job (also that the quality depends on the cartrdige, needle, vinyl itself, amp and all that staff, so the equation has quite a bunch of parameters )...but for the time being the reach is far from being that long..
Thanks in advance to those spending their time and providing some help.
