I have came across two ads that sell their A7 and Rokit 5 for 500 usd (for the pair). I know this is over priced for other countries but in my country, a second hand r 5 for 500usd is the standart price. But second hand A 7 floats like 900 usd (they sell a7x for 1.522,20 €, guess the rest :)

So, that makes them equal regarding the price.

But please answer my following questions

a. Which one will do better on the desk? (I mean which one would be better when played nearby)

b. Which one would suit an Audioengine A5 lover? :)

c. Which one would do fine in just playing music? (you might say that you don't need studio monitors for that purpose but I wanted a step forward after the Audioengine A5. They sell BNIB A5+ for 625usd.

Thanks fellas your answers will make me happy :)

Mate. If it helps at all. It's not even close to a contest.

Where I live a pair of KRK Rokit RP5 G2 costs £200. G3s are < £300  Next gen A7, the ADAM A7X costs  £825 pair.

I'd tread with caution. When a deal is too good to be true it usually is.

I had forgotten to say that the seller stated "I know this is under its price but I urgently need the cash" in the ad for a7.

So that makes it right yeah?

The A7 is the older model of the A7X, and I would be wary for a number of reasons.  Unless you are an experienced buyer of this kind of equipment you may be buying into sub-standard, damaged or just plain broken gear.  Being a discontinued stock item you may also have trouble getting a repair done by a ADAM dealer, and the costs may be significant.

Buying the KRK monitors you will get a manufacturers warranty and which gives you at least 12 months peace of mind, plus you know they are 100% working order at time of purchase.

The only time I have bought second hand gear was from my local supplier selling refurbished gear that they had originally sold, they even gave me a breakdown of what that refurbishment entailed on the receipt and gave me a further 3 months warranty on the item.

There is a huge difference between 2nd hand and buying off ebay/gumtree etc

I agree. The fact that you felt the need to start this post and ask for help means you are not ready to make a good determination in this kind of situation.

There is an better alternative. Fortune favours the brave.

Fly to London. Buy a pair of RP5 or A7X. If your figures are correct then selling them back home will more than cover the cost of your flight.

Spend your own ~$500 on a pair of ADAM A3X.  For yourself. Sorted. Big time.     *(or preferred equivalent, opinions may vary, etc, etc)

If customs present a challenge.

Post the purchase receipts and packaging, 'distress' the speakers very slightly and insist you have them with you when you left.

Or something. There must be a way.

Shipping a pair of active speakers from the USA to an EU nation would cost a fortune in import taxes and freight costs.  Far easier to look for a supplier in your home nation, and then see whats in your budget.  This way you get ongoing support from the vendor and are protected under warranty, if you get the chance try to demo them yourself.

A5 to A5+ isnt much of an upgrade, they are in the same league. Any speaker from Aktimate or Swan bookshelf powered or Emotiva or any studio monitor  from any company, will pawn A5+.

My first choice would be Aktimate Micro or Swan MK series speakers and you might get these in Turkey.

Just import Aktimate Micro from Australia. They ship overseas.
