I recently bought a pair of used LS50 Wireless active speakers for nearfield listening and they sounded amazing but unfortunately the left speaker was damaged and played some weird noises so had to be returned.

I am looking for any recommendations you guys have for active speakers around the LS50 Wireless league. My previous audio setup were the focal utopia headphones with a wooaudio wa8 amp/dac. I currently have the edifier s2000pro speakers but they just cannot even come close to the utopias in detail unlike the LS50W (imo).

I will be selling my old setup to pay for this so somewhere in the price range of $1500-3000 is ideal. I am not averse to buying used speakers. I was really impressed with the DSP from the LS50W so that is my top choice at the moment but I would like to hear any other options!

Thanks for any recommendations you guys can give! :)

Maybe you'll have a look at the Elac Air-X 403 (w/ or w/o airbase).

I got the 407 and i'm in love. :)))
(w/o airbase on my R28)
Was love on the first listening.
The Jet-5 is an amazing piece with a hugh sense for the finest details.

Thanks, I'll check those out.

I've also heard some really great things about the Dynaudio Xeo 20 does anyone have some input about those?

Can't go wrong w/ Dynaudio...

Personally I am using the KEF LSX but would love to upgrade to Genelec The Ones someday, those seem to be the ultimate nearfield actives to me, although quite pricey.

you might want to check out the ELac Navis ARB-51

but are you sure.... ? all in ones are never the best. A good speaker is almost timeless. The same can't be said about amps or dacs.

i'd also second the comments on the magic of Elac Jet 5 (AMT) tweeter. that said, the speakers Chris Kaoss aren't made anymore. (If you want to look at better non-active speakers do look at the Elac Vela line. The Velas are also a very good match for people that like the sound of the Utopia.)

I did in comparison with the Air-X.
Imo, the Air-X, predecessor of the Navis, with the Jet5 is better. :beerchug:
But i was very happy to got the opportunity to test them both in a single shot.
I've dropped the Navis for the older Air-X 407. :)

You made the right pick :)
We both love the jet 5 :) (but it isn't made anymore and we all don't have your German access... and your cheaper prices.... )

Sadly, yes.

Hopefully, we'll see some sucessor equipped with the Jet-5 in the future.

Curios about the sound of the 409.
Maybe i'll get them for living room and the 407 goes to the bed room.

the vela 409s are over $6000 in the US (for the pair). What are they there?

It's the same pricing. 3104 €/ piece.
But you can get the FS 409 (non Vela) for 1899,-€/ piece, which is the same housing like the Air-X 409.
