I have ACDSee V5.0 and recenltly I installed Irfanview/Xnview since ACDSee use a lot of system resources. When I switched back to ACDSee, these .jpg/jpeg files are no longer associated with it and I try to reconfigure the program. I uninstalled and reinstalled ACDsee many times but it still wont open the jpg/jpeg files properly. It will open these files up and show the name, size and all datas in the bottom screen tab but show no pictures. Anyone know what's wrong and how to correct this problem?
Thanks,
NEO

If you don't get any better responses, you might try a little trick I did with another program. Uninstall ACDSee. Make a backup copy of your registry. Select "start" then "run". type in "regedit" the hit <Enter>. Select "edit" then "find" then type in "ACDSee". Hit the "Find Next" button. Everytime regedit stops on an entry, delete it. Keep hitting F3, delete till you get to the end of the registry. This should be pretty safe to do. Go ahead and reboot to see if your system is still stable. If so, try reinstalling ACDSee. If not, replace the registry with your backup and forget I said anything.

Hope it works. Goodluck with it.

PS. You might want to see if doing the above with "Irfanview" works first. This might have screwed things up with ACDSee in the first place. Alot of programs are notorious for leaving stuff in the registry after uninstalling.

Right click on a JPEG file, select Open With -> Choose Program. Find ACDSee on the list, click it, check "Always use selected program to open this kind of file", then click Ok.
