I'm upgrading to the hd-650s soon and have been looking for an amp to pair with them. I just cannot decide if I want to use a opa627 or ad8610 in a pimeta or ppa.
I've heard the 627 described as clean with a wide soundstage, thick bass and detailed highs, which sounds like what I want but was wondering since that is how senns sound, if I paired with hd650s it would have too much of a warm, "veiled" sound. On the other hand the 8610 is considered lively and detailed which seems like it would balance out the sennheiser "veil" a little, but was wondering if it would make the 650s too flat and boring.
So if you've herd eather of these opamps with the hd-650s, please fill me in on their effect on the sound of these cans.
