So Windows 11 has a new "Enhance audio" switch in sound settings. The description below says "Automatically improve sound quality (turn off if you experience sound issues)". What does this mean? What does it do to the sound? Does it just add some unnecessary sound effects or something? Will it make the sound better or worse? I didn't find any documentation about this on Microsoft website.

There was another thread on whathifi and reddit about this unconclusive. One person perceived it as giving the sound more V-shape which might be an easy way of giving "perceivable" better audio or maybe its just an eq preset of sorts, I couldn't imagine anything more imaginative than that without being better documented.
