I drew this up while riding to school... I was thinking how annoying it was to have to turn off a portable amp when you're done, since you invariably forget about half the time (unless you have a power LED) and then your batteries go dead.

I haven't decided on the value of C1 (adjust to give a good delay so your amp doesn't turn off during quiet bits of music) and T1-T3 (pick something that can handle the power without too much loss). I'd also appreciate it if someone would tell me if I used Vcc and Vss correctly - I have a sneaking suspicion I mixed them up.

that really is a cool idea, as long as it doesn't mess with the sound at all..

Well, I drew it in my notebook and copied to Eagle when I got home...

And it shouldn't affect the sound at all, as long as you pick a T1 with a really high gate impedance and get the value of C1 right.
