Things have changed since I was last here.
  • High Fidelity Audio takes a True Wireless Turn
  • Wired Audio has all but became obsolete
  • Reduction of drivers for certain reasons
  • Speakers now support Bluetooth and Audio over Wi-Fi
  • The list goes on.. (Feel free to reply, but mind the rules)
I'm kind of rusty after a LONG hiatus here in Head-Fi, and I had to use ALL the search tools to enable Two Factor Authentication per the rules just in case I might have some "things" to sell, as I have two of them, but I have to wait a certain time before I can even do so, but I MUST mind the rules at all times. Hope that I can post earnestly.

I joined in 2013, posted for a year or so, then I was on a 10-year Head-Fi-hiatus myself.

The two main things I noticed that changed compared to 2013:
  • Much more focus on IEMs
  • A much more wide-spread apparent belief in pseudo-science
Thus I don't contribute too much outside of the Music forum and & Sound Science forum. The other forums I occasionally read for bemusement, and to be at least aware of other people's audiophile rationales even if I don't agree with them myself.

EDIT:

I should add that what I (still) like about Head-Fi is its archival forum structure; many other alternative communities are too much of a "now being discussed" rolling news-banner/news-ticker style with very little persistence and poor facilities for finding historic interesting material & discussions.

It's ironic more people believe in pseudoscience now then 2013 because before we didn't have ASR with measurements to back up what they say.

Someone was looking at my signature and talking smack about the SMSL SP200 which has been my main amp for dynamic/planar for years. I've been to multiple meetups and heard multiple Summit-Fi headphones on it. The only one to make me wish for more power was the HE6se. It got plenty loud with the HE6se but there was not much headroom.

Somehow plugging a bunch of tubes into a box and charging $3,000 with no measurements is superior to my "lowely" SP200....

I think somebody I used to talk to passed away.

"Don't crossface me, Bro!"

That was his sig.
Alive and well, look at his posts at other places. He posted 3 days ago. He just changed interests.
