If anyone is interested in my Ether and Dharma impressions (not from the meet, but from while I had them before & after over the weekend), they can each be found here:

Dharma: http://www.head-fi.org/t/750437/enigmacoustics-dharma/480#post_11867470
Ether: http://www.head-fi.org/t/760249/mrspeakers-ether-impressions-thread/1755#post_11869970

Didn't bother with formal impressions for the HE1K, as most potential buyers of a $3K headphone likely wouldn't be using the very budget gear that I currently own, but I did write a short post on it here: http://www.head-fi.org/t/748334/hifiman-he1000-planar-dynamic-flagship/5640#post_11854564

If I could interject, the MSR7 and MT220 are both really good headphones, just depends on what you'd prefer. The MSR7 is thinner in the mid-range and has less bass quantity than the MT220, but has substantially more clarity and treble quantity. On the other hand, if you want more body to your mid-range and more powerful & filling bass, then go with the MT220.

Thanks, Asr!

Asr, is right on the money describing the MSR-7 and the MT220. I decided to do some research on the 50mm Wagami paper based dynamic driver that the Dharma uses. My first impression that the the Wagami paper based dynamic driver is similar to the Bio-Cellulose Diaphragm on the Audio Quest Nighhawk headphone. This web page goes in detail in the design of the Bio-Cellulose Diaphragm which I like to call fiber paper diaphragm. You can see the hair like fibers on the top of the diaphragm. http://personal.audioquest.com/nighthawk-driver-technology

My question since an all paper diaphragm would have a softer presentation how did ENIGMAcoustics made the paper diaphragm so clear and detailed on the Dharma? I then viewed the photo of the  50mm Wagami paper based dynamic driver.

You can see that with the Dharma they are using a Mylar like material as a substrate for the paper diaphragm. Just look near the edges and you can see the Mylar like film underneath the paper diaphragm. This means that with the Dharma that the paper is acting like a damping material for the diaphragm. That is a brilliant idea to tame the resonances of the mylar. The mylar also seems to act as a surround and I can not tell for sure how far the mylar layer acts as a substrate.

^ Thanks, I actually remembered to bring a proper camera this time, instead of using my smartphone like last time.

I sent you a PM with a link link to the case I have for the Polaris.

Anyone going to RMAF/Can Jam this weekend?  Wouldn't mind meeting up with some of the locals if it works out.

I'm actually using some points to stay at a nearby hotel (walking distance) and would also be interested in a locals-only gathering for lunch maybe?
