Q:
Is it difficult to source this tube?
What are the "ECC##" and "12A##" drop in equivalents?

thanks.. .I see the 6N1 used on a lot of chinese tube amps.

I read somewhere that the 6922 or 6DJ8 is a drop in replacement for the 6N1.

Any truth to that?

Thanks!!

6N1P?

Higher current draw than E88CC / 6922 / 6DJ8 but those are pretty much direct "plug and play" equivalents. If you were asking "is 6N1P ok to drop into a E88CC slot" then I'd say, it'll draw more heater current make sure you have enough on tap.

E88CC / 6922 / 6DJ8 will be fine as drop in replacements but, as always, check the specs of the amp.

6N1P
Heater Voltage 6,3 V
Heater Current 600 mA
mu Factor 35
Transconductance 4,5 mA/V
Ri 11 kOhm
Cin 3,8 pF
Cout 1,75 pF
Maximum Ratings
Plate Voltage 300 V
Plate Dissipation* 2,2 W
Cathode Current* 25 mA
Rgrid 0,5 M

You may find this webpage useful. Based on this I would think replacing a 6N1 or 6N1P with a 6DJ8 or 6922 may work but could also potentially cause problems.

Edit: Oh, I see PinkFloyd beat me to that link. Guess I need some sleep...
