You might look at the Cardas A8. It is a very good earphone. Heard the 30th anniversary edition for a week and it was very good.

Try the V-Moda ZN. They have basically all positive reviews (that is to say, I just haven't found a negative one), and V-Moda's CEO himself claimed that they've been 'benchmarked to outclass models ranging from $300 to over $1000', despite the fact that they're only $180.
