I have DAC Magic couple years ago, NFB 3 is step up from DAC magic ,.better presentation, wider soundstage

But I'm not quite happy NFB 3 sound, I expected to much from this DAC.

In my system , compare to my  Maverick TubeMagic D1 ( with upgraded tube and OPAmps), the D1 has darker sound and better separation instrument presentation.
As you know NFB 3 has 2x times price of D1 .

I'm waiting NFB 3 100hours burn in period finished, I hope the  sound getting better,

That is good to know, will wait for more elaborate impressions.

Last week I bought 1 mains/power cable (manufacture said , for audiophile) and replaced stock NFB-3 cable.
I impressed with sound improvement, good instrument separation, well defined bass, soundstage wide and depth.

The NFB-3 produced good transparant (solid state) sound. Burn in periode still running, I believe the sound will more better later.
Recommended DAC for under $500.

Note:
I tried to change power cable with well known brand cable but not satisfied with result, the other cable give good result
Lesson and learn, if you have chance do audition/compare by listening directly.
In my case the cheap cable beat the expensive and famous cable.

I do feel Expensive cables are... pourposefully flawed

meaning they add a specfic colour to your rig, where as Good quality cables [affordable like $5 a foot prices ect...] are truely transparent

I think the idea is, if your headphone is to warm, buy a flawed cable to make it colder or closer to neutral, an vice versa
