Hi. New to HeadFi. For my high school grade 12 design and technology project I am thinking of making a simple 3D printed headphone. Preferably closed back. Are there any tutorials/guides on important things to know before undertaking the project? Especially driver choices, filters, and other things that can influence FR (such as dampening materials). I would prefer if the driver is on aliexpress, rather than digikey or similar which are commonly out of stock.

I understand Peerless HPD-40N16PET00-32 is good for both closed and open backs scenarios; but it is oos in accessible stores.

I have access to a measurement rig at a facility to experiment with designs, if that helps. I can make chassis modifications and measure results every week.

I have 3D modeling skills and also have built a few CIEMs already. Thinking of diving into the world of custom headphones.

Thanks!
