Good review! I ordered this to use with my Sony MDR EX650AP. Any suggestion for a good paring with this DAC if I was to upgrade the ear buds. Price range USD 150-200...
Do you mean earbuds or in-ears? There's a huge difference between both. ;-P
Anyway, what kind of sound signature are you looking for?
What's your experience with headphones/in-ears/earbuds? What models did you have/audition, what did you like about them?
Hi Chris, im on thin ice here I see... I gonna say, in ears. I recently bought the HD800 after a good sales guy convinced me to test them. So now that I know what music can sound like, im trying to fill the gap in my portable sound. Im no bass head, but apart from that I dont think I have a prefered signature (yet). I obviously like the HD800 sound, but I know that is out of reach with USD 150++ to spend
Somehow missed your comment, strangely I don't get notifications anymore when somebody mentions me or comments in reviews.
My personal recommendation would be the PaiAudio MR3, a really capable triple-driver two-way BA in-ear for ridiculously little money (considering how it sounds and what other BA-based IEMs you usually get at the price).
Thanks for the tip Chris. I looked into those and the do seem like a great option. I will keep a lookout for a good deal with shipping to Norway. Having used the ZuperDac a while now I must say im very pleased with it, especially using it between my phone and aux connection in the car. It really lifts the sound to a new level.
Nice review. Please tell me, between the Apogee Groove, the Zorloo Super DAC and the Dragonfly Red or Black... Which one sounds best with the Sennheiser HD650. I will like to know which one between those three is best to buy for my HD650.
@utchone I'd say it depends on how loud you listen. If an iPhone with activated volume limiter gets the HD 650 looud enough for you, then the ZuperDAC might be sufficient. 1 V output voltage isn't that much, but the Sennheiser only needs about 0.2 V to reach 90 dB peak to peak loudness, so it might be sufficient.
In case of doubt, better get something more powerful.

For me, with my LG G3 and PC, it's a great DAC, with great sound.
