Excellent review. I disagree about sources. My 'best' (transformer coupled) tube amp does not sound as good as my second best with Bokeh, for some reason the lack of detail energy in the second source synergizes with Bokeh ... ?
It's as if the lack of extreme detail is more apparent with the better source, lending a dull air to the proceedings, whereas a less detailed amplifier lacks this effect ... perhaps? I just love how Bokeh sounds with an OTL source ... much better than the supposedly better matched (hi impedance) Auteur to these ears.
Both Auteur and Bokeh sound fantastic with Mjolnir 3, my only solid state source hooked up right now.
One question. I find Bokeh lacks the isolation I seek and releases just a little more sound to the environment than I would like. Is AC quieter from the perspective of the general public?
