Put all the review in ONE word: Bravo :) And ONE word for Prelude too - Bravo

Edit: I've the CustomArt Harmony 8.2 and the treble keeps delivering good surprises. The iem started out as sounding dark, but paired with dx200 it just opened up. Good to read that it keeps pace with Warbler Prelude in most of the key areas.

But Prelude doing all that with one BA driver is in ONE word WOW. Kudos to their hard work all these years trying to perfect it. Good luck to those wonderful guys behind it.

Crinacle begs to differ......and that's an big understatement.

I will never spend $1000+ on a non-custom molded IEM so for those of you who find it to be worthy of pleasurable regular listening or performance I'm glad you found it to be among the best.

And for those of us skeptics these an infinite sea of other options at the same price point and lower. I'd just invest in a custom and then have fun with a few models in the $250-$400 range.

Hi @Results45

First of all: another comment after so many years, I was quite surprised, haha. Now about your 3 points above:

1) Yes, I can remember that Crin wasn't impressed (at all). But I think (if I remember correctly) that he tried another ones custum and I know (by experience) that if you don't have a perfect fit and seal with this IEM, you will lose (almost) all of the magic. Besides that, in the end I will always trust my own ears over another ones opinion.
Btw, I also know that Warbler has updated / improved the version that I have. @ranfan might be able to tell you more about that, when you should be really interested.

The other 2 points below, because of the limit of characters allowed...

2) The Warbler Prelude is a custom (only) and I think they didn't even try to produce a universal fit of it => don't know why. I also still consider $1000 a huge amount of money these days and prices of new TOTL models have gone way out of control (totally crazy) imho. And yes, I'm still enjoying the heck out of the Warbler and posted this a week ago: https://www.head-fi.org/threads/effect-audio-cables-thread.787717/page-453#post-17484376

3) Yes, there are also still many cheaper options out there, but I seriously doubt that these can offer the same quality in sound. Especially in the separation and natural timbre department, in which the Warbler is still my favorite IEM after all this time. But trying multiple models in that lower price range can be a lot of fun indeed, and with some luck you might discover a hidden gem between those :)

Cheers and happy listening!

Spreading some more love in the comment section 🥰 I could happily call it quits with Prelude. I get why some people may call it overpriced, but I'd argue it's not just R&D or material costs that you're paying, it's for me first and foremost an access/entrance to a sound, an ideal sound or at least its approximation. It's basically an idea. Whether if it's worth the fee or whether if it's too much is something to be decided by each. No one should formulate your own mind
