Hi, where did you buy them?

If it is a link on Aliexpress would be perfect.

I don't want to be a contrarian but your theory on the foams differing between the units is only half-right, the image you used was of the original run of blue Vidos. The original run of j-cord blue Vidos was documented to have double stacked foam compared to the white Vidos and y-cable blue Vidos, but that was the only time that we EVER got differing foam between Vido variants. In reality, the voice coil was tweaked between each variant, especially with the Red Vido which has the most differing sound signature out of the OG run of Vidos (and was then tweaked even more to be used in the Yincrow X6). Even then, all this information is also very mis-leading in the current climate (i.e. 2022 and beyond) as the newer Vidos sound nothing alike to the units you'd be able to get in their 3rd year of production due to driver changes and other factors. Despite all that, you still cannot ever go wrong with a Vido :ksc75smile:

If Vido's were so popular in the past... Why are they still unreviewed on HeadFi? So many models/colors and sound variations over the years (I read they were first made in 2012)? Are Vido's just a flop outside of countries that prefer cheaper audio products?

What about the new Vido's in their 3rd (etc) round of production? Are they worth buying?

Or has Vido left the market with a hall of shame as not many knew of it's existence exist (other than niche audiophiles)? Who likes/prefers the new sound profile of the new Vido variants vs the originals?

I thoroughly agree with this review. I've also found the similarities with the Vido and Yinkrow, BloodyPenguin has these reviews as well. Everything is correct here. I had Vidos before but I think I gave them to someone. I just got another 2 pairs again (blue). From memory, the last time I had blues, they had more high-end extension, and lesser bass (if it's not placebo, and they've actually made them different with following generations). These new ones have harder hitting bass and lower extension, and are a bit dark yet will never hurt you with their highs. Soundstage and mids still great.

@LaughMoreDaily.
The Vidos were great then, and are great now. They HAVE been reviewed here on headfi with plenty of other earbuds. Just like our friend @brianforever suggests, earbuds can reach far out and beyond – personally, I myself have strayed from IEMs and stuff as my headphone alternatives, and resort to earbuds. The Vidos enjoy a special place (I have SonyEricsson buds, used old sonys, have used AIWAs, have tried and owned Ty-Hiz, Apple Earbuds wired, VE Monks Plus, Boarseman, and have had plenty others, 150-ohm TY Hi-Z ones, Seahf, Yinkrow X6) - I’ve had upto $20ish dollar MX500 variants – yet the Vido has always been killer. There was another one that I liked (Benji-49s, can't find them any longer) yet the Vido is better than those too, overall.

TOTL – YES. Big yes. Endgame class? Maybe. Probably. For me at the moment, definitely. The fact that $1.5 can be THIS DAMN BANG for your buck is absolutely crazy. $2. Endgame. Two dollars: Endgame. Doesn't even sound right does it? Audio Blasphemy? Sure. But what gives. And I can't lie.
Now for some reality bites: The makers of Vido have nothing to be ashamed of. They’re still selling these – they refuse to raise their price, and people do buy them. Tell me how is not a win-win? I’m already going around saying that just get a Vido and go to sleep (at least for the in-ear solutions). And costs you what? If they break, get another pair in half a beat. Hell, get a few extra pairs (like I usually do) to keep for the future (I’m not gonna give away mine, maybe order more if someone around me wants them).
