I will not commit myself on both genre since I use HM7 mainly for rock and metal music. The bass is not having the best impact for bass heavy song. Probably rock zircon is better for those genres.

In terms of noise isolation, is this better than kz ate?

I will rate isolation is better on HM7 than KZ ATE, simply because of straight vs angled nozzle design.
